Admin Services Coordinator - Mcnl Radiology Reading RoomThe University of Iowa Health Care Department of Radiology is seeking an Administrative Services Coordinator to provide high-level administrative support to faculty and departmental leadership. This position is responsible for complex administrative and scheduling functions and regularly collaborates with department leaders, senior executives, referring providers, technologists, and public and private officials. The Administrative Services Coordinator also serves as a key liaison for faculty working in Radiology Reading Rooms, facilitating effective department-wide communication, and supporting departmental projects and initiatives. This role requires a high degree of professionalism, independent judgment, organization, and discretion in a fast-paced clinical environment.Position ResponsibilitiesMaintains effective working relationships and serves as a primary contact for Radiology FacultyProvides faculty administrative support for assigned Radiology Divisions and Reading RoomsServes as a first point of contact, in person or by phone, for internal staff; Ensures calls are documented and triaged appropriatelyCommunicates patient and exam information to Radiologists from referring providers, technologists, and other healthcare personnelAssists Radiologist with communication to ordering providers when interpreting studiesReviews EPIC reading worklists and status reports to assist Radiologists in the reading workflowAssists in tracking, investigating, and processing external ordersCoordinates patient procedure scheduling to ensure clinical volume is manageable for the Radiologist's workflow and scheduleProvides timely and professional communication with providers regarding procedure schedulingMaintains and manages over book and add-on requests from clinics for Radiologist's clinic proceduresFunctions as a superuser for the Visage Reporting systemAssists with efficient and timely processing of Peer Review studiesMakes decisions and exercises a high level of autonomy while performing administrative/operational support and management of the reading roomMonitors workflow within the reading room and recommend processes to enhance patient satisfaction and clinical operationsManages complex faculty schedules, requiring judgment in determining meeting needs, discretion related to calendar activities, prioritization of appointments and creating multiple electronic calendar systemsMaintains and manages division reading room schedules using the Epic Staffing Board systemMaintains and manage division call schedulesUniversity of Iowa Health Care — recognized as one of the best hospitals in the United States—is Iowa's only comprehensive academic medical center and a regional referral center. Working knowledge of web-based tools; databases, internet searches Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer software applications Demonstrated experience in providing superior customer service in a healthcare or academic environment Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, planning, and follow-up skills Demonstrated independent thinking skills to develop alternative solutions and solve problems Desirable Qualifications Requirements Experience working in customer service in a health care setting Experience working with EPIC software/systems Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of radiology specific terminology Knowledge of University of Iowa Policies and Procedures
