Systems Administrator II – West Des Moines, IowaWe are looking to add a Systems Administrator to join our IT team in West Des Moines, Iowa. Offering a forward-thinking, innovative, and vibrant company culture, along with the opportunity to share your unique potential, there really is no place like Holmes!Basic Function: The purpose of this role is to maintain and support technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components.Essential ResponsibilitiesAnalyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software and networking issues.Configure, optimize, fine-tune, and monitor operating system software and servers. Provide recommendations for improvements.Manage and coordinate tech support tickets and the escalation process between tier 2 and tier 3 support.Perform system maintenance tasks, such as system back-ups, recovery, and file maintenance.Manage administration for phone, fax, email, operating systems, applications and active directory.Create documentation as needed for end-users and update accordingly for procedural purposes.Additional ResponsibilitiesConfigure, test and deploy software packagesAssist with writing policies, procedures, and technical documentation.Assist with training of new team members.Assist with networking changes and equipment replacements.Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience preferred.Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) a plus.Experience: 2-4 years' experience working with a wide variety of hardware and software systems used by the company.CompetenciesIn addition to the responsibilities, knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined in this job description, the Company also assesses and develops employees based on core and technical competencies through a performance management process.
