Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

Duties

Demonstrates integration of biopsychosocial concepts, cognitive skills, and technically competent practice while providing care to clients.

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components.

Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.

Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.

The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation.

Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others.

The IR RN is responsible for direct patient care, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care and identifying outcomes for patient undergoing invasive procedures in IR.

They are responsible for coordinating patient care delivery to ensure the delivery of quality care per the established standards of practice, policy, and procedure.

Provides patient education to assist the patient and/or family in understanding all phases of the invasive procedure process.

Maintains knowledge of supplies and equipment used for various cases in the invasive procedures area.

Performs the duties of recording, circulating, and monitoring patients in all phases of the invasive procedure.

The IR RN performs hemodynamic and moderate sedation monitoring, medication administration, and provides pre-and post-care to patients undergoing invasive procedures.

The IR RN provides peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement. Supports colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care.

Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of health care professionals.

Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations.

Responsible for the documented IR outcomes at the program or service level. Program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility.

This nurse has vast experience and knowledge with the situations in which they are ultimately expected to perform, skillfully integrating theoretical concepts, strong critical thinking skills, and exhibits an expert technically skilled practice.

May be required to take call.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of 2 years of Nursing experience in critical care, interventional radiology, catheterization laboratory and or Post-anesthesia care unit intensive care.
