The Hiring Team We are looking for a Programme Manager to join the Change Management function, reporting to the relevant Portfolio Lead / Head of Practice. Role focus: end-to-end delivery of client-facing, complex programmes of work. This includes onboarding new clients or transitioning funds administration services from existing providers, remediation projects, onboarding to extended Apex services, or service enhancements. You will translate senior-level intent into executable plans, maintain delivery grip, build client confidence, and ensure outcomes meet agreed objectives. Accountability: Manage the programme or multiple workstreams within a programme under a Programme Director, defining and controlling projects/workstreams, coordinating delivery teams, managing dependencies and risks, and providing clear reporting to senior stakeholders. The role requires comfort with pace, pragmatic decision-making, and applying governance proportional to the need. The practice team is located across UK (London), Ireland (Dublin), Bulgaria (Sofia), South Africa (Cape Town) and India (Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore). Apex operates a 5-day office working policy. Key duties and responsibilities Own the end-to-end delivery of one or more complex programmes, ensuring outcomes align with scope, time and cost parameters. Translate high-level objectives into clear delivery plans with defined milestones, dependencies, risks and ownership. Lead and coordinate multiple project managers and workstream leads, providing direction, challenge and support. Maintain clear oversight of programme status, risks, issues and dependencies, escalating early where required. Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders, providing clear updates on progress and delivery confidence. Apply appropriate delivery methodologies (waterfall, agile or hybrid), using pragmatism rather than rigid adherence to frameworks. Ensure programme governance is proportionate and supports delivery. Manage programme-level resourcing, addressing capacity constraints and skill gaps with Practice and Portfolio Leads. Drive resolution of delivery blockers, coordinating across technology, operations, risk, compliance and business teams as needed. Capture and apply lessons learned to improve future delivery. Experience and skills Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage, challenge and influence at senior levels. Experience in the Asset Servicing/Management sector of Financial Services; familiar with typical operating models in this space. Proven experience delivering complex programmes spanning multiple projects and stakeholders. Strong background in project and programme delivery within technology and/or business change environments. Experience in high-ambiguity, fast-paced environments with competing priorities. Ability to maintain delivery grip under pressure and make pragmatic decisions with incomplete information. Solid understanding of delivery disciplines across waterfall and agile approaches, with the ability to apply what works. Experience managing programme-level risks, dependencies and resourcing constraints. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail while maintaining focus on the bigger picture. Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, take ownership and operate with minimal supervision. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Nice to have Experience with Corporate Clients in Financial Services, or related sectors. Exposure to large-scale onboarding, migration or integration programmes. Familiarity with common project and portfolio tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps, MS Project, Jira).
