Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable Equipment Operator to support daily plant operations by moving and supplying feedstock materials to keep production running smoothly. This role involves operating heavy equipment, maintaining material storage and loading areas, and communicating with the control room to ensure equipment stays supplied. The ideal candidate has experience operating heavy equipment and takes workplace safety seriously.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, skid steers, dozers, and excavators, to move and manage materials.
• Maintain a steady supply of feedstock to the plant to support continuous production.
• Communicate with the control room throughout the shift to ensure the feed hopper stays full while the plant is operating.
• Help manage on-site and off-site feedstock and rejected or unusable materials.
• Keep loading areas, material storage areas, and travel paths clean and safe.
• Complete equipment inspections before and after each shift and submit all required checklists.
• Monitor equipment for leaks, unusual odors, spills, damage, or other mechanical problems.
• Report equipment issues, safety hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
• Submit maintenance requests when equipment requires repairs or servicing.
• Follow all company safety, health, and environmental procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and keep it in good condition.
• Attend safety meetings and complete required training and certifications.
• Maintain clean equipment and perform routine housekeeping.
• Communicate equipment issues and operating concerns during shift changes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or material-handling environment is preferred.
• Experience operating front-end loaders, skid steers, dozers, or excavators is preferred.
• Ability to perform equipment inspections and identify potential mechanical issues.
• Strong awareness of workplace safety and equipment operating procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other operators.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to complete required training and maintain necessary certifications.
