Position Electronics Specialist, Journey Location UNC Greensboro, North Carolina Position Type Staff – Full Time Recruitment Range $52,549 – $58,388 Key Responsibilities Repair of Fire Alarm Systems – perform emergency service, repairs and system outages for campus fire protection systems, including hardware and software and peripheral panels. Maintenance of Fire Alarm and associated Life Safety Equipment – conduct preventive maintenance and testing per applicable codes, assist in ensuring operational status. Record Keeping – maintain accurate maintenance, repair, inspection records of campus fire protection systems and provide documentation to required departments. Construction – In‑House – perform life safety work for in‑house renovation/construction projects and submit daily labor and materials reports. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in Electronics or an equivalent combination of training and experience. NC driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications NICET Level II or higher certification in Fire Alarm Systems. Factory certification by at least two major fire alarm manufacturers in programming and operation of their systems. Experience reviewing building design phases for life safety systems. Experience conducting system testing, inspections and commissioning of life safety and access‑control systems. Experience prioritizing, scheduling and managing workload, including service orders and preventive maintenance programs.
