We have an exciting opportunity fora Welder position in Portsmouth Virginia! Qualifications Must have either a TWIC card or Real ID Must have aminimum5 years of professional FCAW welding experience. Must possess First Class/Journeyman-level FCAW welding skills. Demonstrated proficiency performing FCAW welds in multiple positions, including vertical and overhead. Ability to successfully complete required FCAW weld qualification/testing. Strong knowledge of welding techniques, joint preparation, weld sequencing, and defect prevention. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings. Ability to properly set up, operate, and troubleshoot FCAW welding equipment. Proficient with grinders, torches, and standard welding/fabrication tools. Job Duties Perform first-class welding using Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) processes. Weld carbon steel and other specified materials in accordance with approved procedures, drawings, and specifications. Perform structural welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, technical drawings, and work instructions. Prepare materials for welding by fitting, beveling, grinding, cleaning, and aligning components. Set up and adjust welding equipment, including amperage, voltage, wire feed speed, and shielding gas. Perform multi-pass groove and fillet welds to required specifications. Inspect completed welds for proper penetration, profile, size, and overall workmanship. Identify and correct weld defects such as porosity, undercut, incomplete fusion, and slag inclusions. Use grinders, chipping tools, torches, and other hand and power tools associated with welding operations. Follow all applicable safety procedures, hot-work requirements, and PPE requirements. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Schedule: Monday-Friday6am-3pm Must be flexible to work weekends and OT as needed Pay: $28-34/hour based on experience #ISS #J-18808-Ljbffr
