Our Older Adolescent Program (OAP) supports young adults ages 17-21 as they prepare for successful independent living. Through a youth-guided, strengths-based approach, the program helps participants build the life skills, confidence, and support systems needed to transition into adulthood and achieve long-term stability. About the Role As an OAP Site Coordinator, you will provide leadership and oversight for one or more independent living program sites, ensuring youth receive the support, structure, and guidance needed to achieve their goals. This role supervises staff, coordinates services, supports treatment planning, and fosters a therapeutic environment grounded in trauma-informed care and positive youth development. What You'll Do Oversee daily operations of one or more Older Adolescent Program sites, ensuring a safe, supportive, and strengths-based environment for youth. Supervise, coach, and develop staff through regular supervision, training, scheduling, performance management, and ongoing professional development. Support youth in developing independent living skills, including budgeting, employment readiness, education planning, transportation, household management, and community engagement. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, community providers, educators, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized service plans. Manage site operations, including budgets, supplies, vehicle utilization, maintenance needs, documentation, and compliance with agency and DCFS requirements. Promote trauma-informed practices, crisis intervention strategies, and continuous quality improvement efforts that enhance outcomes for youth and staff. Who We're Looking For Required Must be at least 25 years of age. Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of three years of experience in residential, transitional living, shelter care, or a related youth services program. Demonstrated experience working with adolescents and young adults ages 17-21. Strong leadership, supervision, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively supervise staff, build positive relationships, and support team development. Valid Illinois driver's license. Access to a personal vehicle and proof of automobile insurance. Ability to successfully complete required background checks and drug screenings. No history of child abuse or neglect. Preferred Knowledge of childhood trauma and experience working with youth and families impacted by traumatic stress. Understanding of Positive Youth Development, adolescent development, and strengths-based practices. Experience with independent living, transitional living, or community-based youth programs. Experience implementing trauma-informed care and crisis intervention practices. Position Requirements & Work Environment Work Location: Older Adolescent Program sites located throughout the Chicagoland area. Travel/Driving: Frequent travel between program sites and community locations. Must be able to transport youth using agency vehicles and travel between sites using a personal vehicle as needed. Schedule: Full-time position requiring schedule flexibility. Site Coordinators maintain on-call responsibilities 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and may adjust schedules to ensure program coverage. Physical Requirements: Ability to navigate multi-level residences, move between floors multiple times throughout a shift, and actively supervise youth in residential and community settings. Work Environment: Community-based independent living and transitional living settings serving older adolescents and young adults. Other Position Requirements: Must be able to effectively utilize verbal intervention skills, maintain accurate electronic documentation, and support youth and staff through crisis situations when necessary.
