Staff Accountant

Base pay range $60,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr Staff Accountant AP Professionals has partnered with a local company in search of a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the Finance and Accounting team by ensuring accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with the monthly close process. This position requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. This is a Direct Hire opportunity, on the west side of Rochester. Pay is between $60-75K. RESPONSIBILITIES Create and enter journal entries in alignment with GAAP requirements. Record daily cash transactions into the general ledger. Generate and upload weekly payroll-related journal entries. Perform reconciliations for a variety of general ledger accounts, including banking, payroll, prepaid items, and accruals. Oversee fixed asset tracking and update depreciation records. Manage documentation and amortization schedules for all leased assets. Support monthly and annual close processes by preparing necessary reports and backup schedules. Respond to audit inquiries and compile relevant materials for external auditors. Uphold adherence to organizational policies and internal controls. Recommend enhancements to streamline workflows and improve accuracy. Carry out additional duties within the accounting and finance function as needed. EDUCATION Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field EXPERIENCE 1–3 years of accounting experience (public accounting or corporate) Experience with reconciliations, audits, or financial reporting preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles Strong attention to detail and well organized Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment #J-18808-Ljbffr AP Rochester
