About the Role
The Company is in search of an Associate General Counsel with a focus on Litigation and HSE. The successful candidate will be a key player in managing a diverse range of legal matters, including complex civil litigation, regulatory disputes, and HSE/environmental legal issues. This senior role requires a strategic and risk-based approach to provide legal advice that aligns with the company's objectives. The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for overseeing outside counsel, leading pre-litigation dispute resolution, and partnering with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks. A strong background in litigation, a Juris Doctor degree, and a minimum of 10 years' of experience are essential. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and be an active member of the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. The role demands a professional with a proven track record in managing complex legal matters, particularly in the areas of commercial litigation, regulatory enforcement, and HSE compliance. The ideal candidate will have excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills, as well as the ability to lead and manage a significant litigation portfolio. Experience in heavily regulated sectors, such as energy, natural resources, or manufacturing, is highly valued. The role requires a candidate with a strong business acumen, the ability to make sound judgments, and a commitment to the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
