An established public accounting firm serving clients across a wide range of industries is seeking a Tax Manager to join its growing team. The firm operates with a consultative, high touch approach, working closely with clients on both advisory needs and the practical accounting details behind their tax outcomes. A hybrid work model is available after onboarding.

Full time position based in Troy, MI. Hybrid schedule available after onboarding.

$150,000 to $170,000 base salary, plus a performance bonus.

This role manages tax compliance and planning work for individual, business, and entity clients, reviewing tax returns and providing guidance to senior and staff level team members. The tax manager serves as a client facing advisor on tax, accounting, and planning issues, helping clients resolve practical bookkeeping and accounting issues that affect their tax outcomes. This position also coordinates with assurance staff and other team members on overlapping client needs, supporting clients across industries with construction industry experience considered a plus.

Required Qualifications

• Experienced public accounting tax professional with manager level capability
• Strong individual and business tax review experience
• Ability to manage client relationships and mentor and review staff work

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA license
• Experience in a smaller CPA firm, bookkeeping, or hands on business accounting environment
• Construction industry client experience
