The Weld Re-9 School District headquartered in Ault, Colorado has an anticipated open position at Highland High School for the 2026-2027 school year. Job Title: High School Teacher FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: High School Principal Days per Year: 185 Job Location: Highland High School Hours per Week: 40+ Revision Date: March 6, 2026 Pay Range: $50,000-$65,750 per year depending on education, years of teaching experience, and professional development credits. The contract amount will be prorated based on how many contract days are left in the school year. As of September 23, 2026, there are 154 out of 184 total contract days remaining, prorating the salary to 83%. Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop course content in relation to the Colorado Academic Standards Plan, organize, and implement effective instructional strategies and lessons
• Monitor and evaluate student progress
• Collaborate with colleagues in department and building level administration
• Develop individualized lessons and programs for students as needed
• Communicate students' academic progress and needs with appropriate stakeholders
• Administer, edit, proofread, and grade student work in a timely manner
• Any and all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree with a teaching certification is preferred, but not required
• Endorsement, certification, degree, passing PRAXIS score, or being highly qualified in area of instruction is preferred, but not required
• Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado Teaching License
