Executive Chef - Los Angeles

In this role, you will be the visionary behind the food experience at one of Los Angeles' most significant new cultural landmarks. You will manage diverse dining environments, ranging from daily service in restaurants and food halls to sophisticated private event catering. This position is ideal for a culinary leader who thrives in high-volume settings and wants to bring creativity, operational excellence, and mentorship to a flagship venue. What Success Looks Like Success in this role is measured by your ability to balance artistic culinary execution with rigorous operational and financial management. On a daily basis, you will provide hands‑on leadership to a team of 40+ staff, ensuring that every dish served meets our high standards for quality and presentation while maintaining strict compliance with health and safety protocols. Over the first few months, success means: Building a cohesive, motivated kitchen team through clear communication and effective mentorship. Mastering the financial health of the kitchen by optimizing inventory, labor costs, and COGS to meet P&L targets. Developing seasonal menus that resonate with museum guests and clients, reflecting modern culinary trends. Establishing efficient operational workflows that ensure seamless transitions between daily dining and large‑scale private events. Requirements Must‑Haves 5–7+ years of senior kitchen leadership experience. Demonstrated success managing high‑volume or multi‑outlet culinary operations. Proven financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, P&L management, and cost control. Experience leading, training, and developing large teams (40+ employees). The flexibility to work an event‑driven schedule, including evenings and weekends. Nice‑to‑Haves A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts. Prior experience working within cultural institutions, major venues, or large‑scale event hospitality. Proficiency in Spanish. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary for this position is $145,000 – $170,000, plus eligibility for performance‑based bonuses.
