Store Manager Trainee

Responsibilities Engage in on-the-job training to learn how to manage the profitable operations of your assigned store. Maintain a high standard for merchandising, placement, and store signage and use proper display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers. Recruit and hire store associates to serve our customers. Facilitate the growth and development of associates through training on operations and merchandising, coaching and correcting when appropriate. Oversee and delegate all store activities to ensure smooth daily operations. Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures. Perform opening and closing procedures as needed. Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated from corporate headquarters. Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution and protect company assets. Maintain a high level of customer service across the store. Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders. Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years of prior retail management experience (preferred). Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience is a plus. Strong productivity management in freight processing is required. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required. Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment. Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
