Legal Assistant

Job Description Legal Assistant Raleigh, NC A full-time, on-site Legal Assistant position with a trial-focused law firm handling complex civil litigation, including catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, medical malpractice, product liability, and insurance defense. Key Responsibilities: Support attorneys with pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and trial materials. Manage case files, calendars, deadlines, and legal documents. Coordinate hearings, meetings, and attorney schedules. Assist with document production and court filings in state and federal courts. Communicate with clients, courts, experts, and internal teams. Draft routine correspondence and handle phone calls. Maintain electronic and physical case records. Provide administrative and litigation support during trial and appellate matters. Ideal Candidate: An organized, detail-oriented legal professional with strong litigation support, document management, scheduling, communication, and court-filing skills, preferably with experience in a fast-paced trial law environment. Legal Assistant - Key Qualifications Foundational knowledge of law and civil litigation processes. Strong legal document preparation skills, including drafting, formatting, proofreading, and organizing case materials. Excellent written and verbal communication skills when working with attorneys, clients, courts, and other stakeholders. Strong administrative and organizational skills, including scheduling, file management, data entry, and office support. Prior law firm, legal assistant, or paralegal experience preferred; relevant coursework or training is also valuable. Associate's or bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or comparable legal education may be preferred. Proficiency with legal practice management and document management software. Excellent attention to detail, time management, and multitasking abilities. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and manage sensitive legal information.
