Job Title: Manual Machinist Job Description

As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for machining parts for rotating equipment such as pumps, shafts, couplings, rings, cases, turbines, and valves. You will operate manual mills and lathes, primarily working with steel and stainless steel. Precision is key, as you will be working with tolerances down to .5 1000's of an inch.

Essential Skills

• 4+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist

• Proficiency in operating lathe and mill

• Skills in manual machining, including horizontal boring mill, VTL, lathe

• Experience with calipers, blueprint reading, micrometer, grinding, and drill press

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• VTL and HBM skills are highly desired

Work Environment

Work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday from 4:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with 60% availability. Saturdays at 40%, Sundays are typically for emergencies only, and holidays are paid at double time. The shop is climate-controlled indoors, offering 8 holidays and 2 floating holidays annually, with a 4% match on 401(k).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenner, LA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
