Chief Estimator

Work Schedule: onsite with 1 day remote available. Work Hours: 8 AM-5PM. Are you a strategic leader with a passion for electrical construction and a knack for precision? Join our dynamic team as a Chief Estimator, where your expertise will directly influence the company's growth, project success, and profitability. This high‑impact role offers the opportunity to lead a talented estimating team, develop innovative bid strategies, and drive company-wide success in a collaborative and high-performance environment. What You Will Do: Lead, mentor, and develop the estimating team to achieve high performance and accountability Oversee all bid and proposal activities, assuring accurate, timely, and competitive submissions Review project documents—including plans, specs, and addenda—to identify scope, risks, and pricing strategies Develop detailed take‑offs and cost estimates for various project types, including plan/spec and design‑build Establish laboratory productivity assumptions and material pricing aligned with company standards Analyze project risks and present compelling pricing recommendations to leadership Collaborate with project management, field operations, and preconstruction teams to ensure smooth project handoffs Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors Drive continuous improvement in estimating procedures and documentation using platforms like Accubid Classic and Change Order Pro Track bid performance metrics to refine strategies and increase hit rates Required Skills & Qualifications: 10+ years of electrical construction estimating experience Proven leadership experience managing estimating teams Strong knowledge of NEC requirements and commercial construction practices High proficiency in Accubid (or similar estimating software) Excellent analytical, financial, and risk evaluation skills Outstanding communication and leadership capabilities Highly detail‑oriented, with the ability to handle multiple large‑scale bids concurrently Nice to Have Skills & Experience: Experience with other estimating platforms and project management software Prior involvement in project planning and risk management Exposure to design‑build projects or specialized electrical systems Preferred Education & Experience: 10+ years relevant industry experience, with a track record of leadership in estimating roles Other Requirements: Willingness to collaborate across teams and foster strong industry relationships Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to evolving project scopes Equal Opportunity Employer Statement Trova Advisory Group is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
