Sports Information Director

Overview Position Type Student Description Job Summary/Objective: Track and record official statistics for Sweet Briar’s varsity teams in soccer, field hockey, softball and lacrosse Assist with game day set-up, tear down and operations before and after games for each of the sports listed above Help compile historical records for the creation of the College’s athletic record books Assist with the planning, organizing and running of athletic events such as the annual awards ceremony Help run social media accounts for various teams Position Type/Expected Work Hours Scheduled shifts throughout the week (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) with weekend and night work for game as needed, will not exceed 20 hours per week Work directly with communications staff in coverage of one or more sports Update coach and student-athlete biographies Update in-season statistics Learn statistical programs for assigned sports Update and help create record books for assigned sports Keeping the social media accounts up-to-date and on trend Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of athletics Strong interest in sports Knowledge of Adobe Suite The hourly rate for this position is 11.50 per hour.
