Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a BSN and orthopedic, robotics, general surgery, and urology experience for a 12-week day shift assignment with call requirements.

Job Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting,
• Day shift, 5x8 hours, 11:00-19:30,
• Weekend requirement applies,
• On-call required: weekend call (12-hour shifts, 7a-7p or 7p-7a) and weekday call (5p-11p x2, 11p-7a x2) within a 6-week period,
• Must be able to scrub and circulate,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• May be required to float between facilities within the health system upon request,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand; emergency or pending licenses not accepted,
• BSN required,
• BLS certification required through AHA; ACLS and CNOR preferred,
• Minimum 1 year of direct OR experience required,
• 2 years of charge RN experience required,
• Experience in orthopedics, robotics, general surgery, and urology required,
• Experience with a range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, thoracic, ENT, and endoscopic procedures preferred,
• Skills checklist and 2 references required for consideration, with one reference from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge RN within the last year,
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront and cannot be added later,
• Employment history with the health system, including any acquired facilities, must be disclosed if applicable,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for a wide variety of surgical specialties such as vascular, orthopedic, neurology, general surgery, robotics, urology, gynecology, plastics, thoracic, ENT, podiatry, and ophthalmology procedures,
• Familiarity with specialized equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana table, and Steris systems is valued,
• Knowledge of emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia procedures is expected,
• Local candidates accepted at a local rate within a 75-mile radius,
