Department PROV Civil Rights Center Job Summary The Business Manager will be responsible for integrating grants administration, budget management, and strategic financial planning to support the Center for Civil Rights History and Research. The role includes managing the administration of grants and sponsored programs, developing and managing an integrated budget for the Center, overseeing the financial planning related to facilities operations, and supervising an administrative assistant to support the role. Responsibilities Integrate grants administration, budget management, and strategic financial planning for the Center. Manage administration of grants and sponsored programs. Develop and manage integrated budget for the Center. Oversee financial planning related to facilities operations. Supervise an administrative assistant to support the role. Minimum Qualifications 7 or more years of experience in grant administration, business management, public administration, human resources, or administrative services, or equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. Demonstrated expertise in grant accounting, including budget development and management, procurement, travel, and human resources activities and systems. Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented individual with experience using USC financial systems such as PeopleSoft Payroll and Finance, Finance Intranet, and USCeRA. Experience working with non‑profits and government organizations, particularly in grant‑funded environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience with federal grant/contract regulations and procedures, basic accounting and financial management principles. Strong organizational, time management, analytical, interpersonal skills and ability to relate to diverse audiences. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, and sponsoring agency personnel. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat. Understanding of federal grant/contract regulations and procedures. Basic accounting and financial management principles. Strong organizational, time‑management, analytical, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills.
