As Snowmaking Supervisor, you will assist in leadership of the snowmaking team - creating team culture, innovating operations, and delivering for our guests a remarkable winter experience.As a Boyne Mountain team member, there are so many awesome perks for you to take advantage of, such as: ski and golf passes, waterpark passes, discounts for dining, retail, daycare, and so much more!ResponsibilitiesActively monitoring and supporting daily operations of the snowmaking team including but not limited to: performing duties of all snowmaking positions; acting as a working foreman; planning work assignments; monitoring work in progress and checking completed work; skiing/riding to test product; coordinating with other departments.Ensuring successful (safe and efficient) charging, operation, and shutting down of the snowmaking system.Coordinating and performing a wide variety of snowmaking maintenance tasks as required to keep the system operational or expand capabilities.Regularly inspecting all snowmaking work areas, including pump houses and all equipment and tools, to ensure proper function, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards.Assisting with preventative maintenance on all snowmaking equipment - performed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and/or company standards and maintaining maintenance/repair records.Troubleshooting: locating and diagnosing problems within the snowmaking system.Maintaining a working knowledge of the snowmaking control software and be able to help others troubleshoot. Communicating with colleagues and contractors to diagnose and repair as needed.Assisting other departments as requested during periods of high volume, to maximize guest experience.QualificationsPrevious experience with running heavy equipment and/or weldingAbility to communicate effectively within a professional mannerAbility to solve practical problems and take directionEnjoy working outdoor in a variety of weather conditionsUnderstand the physical demands and hazards of position; standing, walking, lifting, twisting, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl; exposed to moving parts, risk of electrical shock, vibration and high noise levelUnderstand and follow all local, state and company safety procedures and policiesStrong base of knowledge and skills related to compressor/pump mechanics, electrical systems, instrumentation, welding, pipe laying and constructionPassionate about winter sports, the outdoors or hospitalityDesire to learn new skills and help othersExcellent written and verbal communication skills (English)Detail oriented, organized, and able to quickly prioritize tasks and adapt accordinglyThrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environmentAble to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, with varying hours based on season
