Job Summary The Production Manager provides leadership and direction for overall production and maintenance operations in accordance with the corporation’s vision and values. They foster a “Culture of Safety,” promote employee-driven, hazard-controlled environments, and advise local business regarding long‑term strategic direction. They manage and coordinate the production plan (daily/weekly) to meet delivery schedules and budgeted cost/efficiency expectations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and oversee the execution of predictive/preventative maintenance plans through the maintenance management system. The Production Manager holds themselves and staff accountable for adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards, ensures training plans are in place, and assumes plant manager responsibilities as needed. Job Location This position is based out of our plant in Sioux Falls, SD and also supports our plant in Elgin, IL. Job Responsibilities Implement and maintain safety and continuous flow production methods with the plant manager. Actively seek out, plan, and implement process improvements, including RM cost reduction, asset utilization, team balancing, and aligning team strategy to operational demands. Drive continuous improvement in leadership, team dynamics, and change readiness, and develop the team pipeline with the plant manager. Finalize the daily/weekly production schedule with the scheduler. Establish formal and informal communications for staff, including morning safety huddles, mid‑day meetings, maintenance planning, and coordination with operations, sales, and engineering. Ensure proper training of employees with leads and systematic trainers. Design plant layout to optimize safety and efficiency. Utilize the Inventory Management Process (Production‑Purchasing Report) to meet finished goods inventory targets. Administer monthly OSHA compliance training in coordination with EH&S Tech and the EH&S Area manager. Lead the safety committee to promote awareness and improve safety programs and initiatives, advancing an employee‑driven, hazard‑controlled environment. Oversee the overall preventative/predictive maintenance program for the facility with the maintenance manager. Maintain thorough knowledge of precast processes and equipment, including industry technological developments and best practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 3+ years of leadership experience in an industrial environment leading multiple departments. Associate’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Production or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Strong administrative and computer skills with ERP system experience and advanced Excel proficiency.
