Our team is excited to meet you! Job Overview & Responsibilities As an Aerospace Technician at United Launch Alliance, you will support launch operations for Atlas and Vulcan programs. The primary function of this position is to receive, integrate, test and launch space vehicles. The following are some of the responsibilities required of this position: Install, modify, calibrate, troubleshoot, maintain, and test ground, airborne, and facility systems and equipment to meet engineering, quality, and customer specifications. Support launch operations, including hoisting and rigging of vehicle components, stacking of launch vehicles, and the transport and handling of spaceflight hardware and ordnance. Perform maintenance, repair, and modification of electronic, mechanical, structural, and fluid systems—including measurement instrumentation, aerospace ground equipment, and facility infrastructure. Conduct in-place calibration, refurbishment, fabrication, and final servicing of launch systems during static firing and launch prep activities. Assist engineering teams with test execution, data analysis, and malfunction correction through operational procedures and technical evaluations. Operate heavy-duty vehicles and specialized transporters to move parts, tools, and assembled products across on-site and off-site locations. Perform structural fabrication and repairs, including sheet metal, composites, fiberglass, and welding, as needed. Handle and work safely with cryogenic gases used in space vehicle operations. Checkout, troubleshoot and repair space vehicle major electrical, electronic or instrumentation and range safety equipment. Perform complete installation, modification and checkout of an assigned instrumentation and/or telemetry system including the set-up of required test equipment, ascertaining proper calibration procedures, connect points, type of lines, transducers, and related items to complete end-to-end calibration of instrumentation or the checkout of electronic control systems. Must be able to travel, work overtime, and support all shifts as required Note: This position will require training to be conducted Monday-Friday, on first shift (typically 2-3 months). Based on work schedule, payload, launch demand, and union seniority, and skillset. This role will adjust to 2nd shift. 1st shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM 2nd shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Required Education High School/GED Required Years of Experience Minimum of 4 years of related work experience Basic Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of related work experience that includes one or more of the following: Crane/Rigging Propulsion Hydraulics Pneumatics Mechanical Electrical/Avionics Relevant Associates or 2-year Technical Degree may satisfy for 2 years of experience Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required. US citizenship is required. Basic computer experience to include Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Must be able to work 1st shift during training and adjust to a 2nd shift work schedule based on payload, launch demand, and union seniority, with the ability to work overtime, weekends and nights when requested. Ability to travel to other ULA facilities including travel outside the state of Florida and coast to coast travel (25%) Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs on a frequent basis. Capable of climbing and working at heights. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and personal transportation to drive between work locations on a military base where public transportation is not available. Job duties require traveling between locations on the military base throughout the course of the day. Preferred Qualifications Relevant Associates or 2-year technical degree. AAS in Aerospace Technology or Automotive Technology is preferred. FAA AP License Crane Operator or Crane Director Experience Heavy structures and/or airframe experience CDL CNC OSHA Scaffold Certification What makes ULA different?
