Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant for a direct‑hire opportunity in Chesapeake, VA. The Staff Accountant will support financial control activities, general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and audit preparation. Key Responsibilities Perform monthly financial statement reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper support. Prepare and complete monthly general ledger reconciliations for balance sheet accounts. Assist with month‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis. Maintain organized, well‑documented workpapers to support reconciliations, reporting, and audit requests. Research discrepancies and work cross‑functionally to resolve accounting issues in a timely manner. Support annual audit preparation by compiling schedules, documentation, and related financial information. Compensation and Benefits Direct hire opportunity. Salary range: $70,000 to $75,000 annually, depending on experience. Location: Chesapeake, VA. Schedule: Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Hybrid work arrangement: 1 remote day per week.
