Warehouse Technician

General Description The Warehouse/Facilities Technician ("Technician") will receive, ship, stage, and distribute materials, equipment, and products within the warehouse. The Technician must ensure accuracy and timeliness of all job functions and will work in a warehouse setting with some outdoor exposure during the workday. The Technician will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers, as well as warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, forklifts, and tape dispensers. Specific Responsibilities Assist with shipping and receiving – unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and matching purchase orders to sales orders. Read customer orders, shop orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, and/or shipped. Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas. Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as product code. Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for company associates and customers. Mark materials with identifying information using an appropriate method. Assist with counting physical inventory. Sweep, dust, and mop – organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times. Wear proper safety equipment. Handle all facility requests. Interface with facility vendors for services as needed. Maintain inventory of all shipping and facility supplies. Work with the IFS business system. Identify and support sales with order errors. Handle and deliver packages to company associates. Qualifications Customer service oriented. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Teamwork oriented. Ability to drive a company truck. Required Education & Experience Valid driver’s license. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience. Preferred Experience / Competencies One year warehouse technician experience preferred. IFS enterprise software experience preferred. Physical Requirements Standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, reaching overhead, climbing, pushing, and pulling. Lifting up to 30 pounds. Using a computer. Using a telephone. Driving.
