Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Neurosurgery (Inpatient 2)

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support Neurosurgical services located in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin at the Froedtert South FPPH Campus . MCW Department of Neurosurgery will advance the field of neurological surgery through world-class care, groundbreaking research, and innovative education.

Position Highlights:

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring neurosurgical intervention in blended environment as a member of the Neurosurgery Service. Writes accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders.
  
• Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information.
  
• Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as identified by the neurosurgical services.
  
• Facilitates and communicates with patient, family, and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care.
  
• Attend required training and meets key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Join Commission.
  
• Evaluates quality outcomes for the patients receiving care of this team through participation in the development of quality indicators and outcomes dashboard.
  
• Acquires information on the most current development and trends in the Physician Assistant field and/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs, in-services, professional associates, and current literature.
  
• Works in both the ambulatory and inpatient environments.

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience:

• 2+ years of APP experience or relevant neurosurgical experience
  

Minimum Education:

• Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
  
• Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
