Growing together.As a full-time, nonexempt Specialty Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various specialty pharmacy technician activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.Schedule: This full-time, nonexempt position will work 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.Location: Oaklawn Hospital was founded in 1925 as a 12-bed hospital in a residential home, funded by a group of visionary philanthropists. Now, over 100 years later, we are licensed for 77 acute care beds and a 17-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. Our service area includes Calhoun County and parts of Branch and Eaton counties with a medical staff of more than 300 providers representing over 50 specialties.Specialty Pharmacy Hours: The pharmacy utilizes Arbor, Athena, and ScriptPro. Pharmacy hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.Primary Responsibilities:Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacistProcess prescription orders accurately, including entering patient and prescription data into pharmacy systemsAssist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiencyProcess and coordinate specialty medication prescriptions, often for complex or chronic conditionsManage prior authorizations and insurance requirements, working closely with payers and providersCoordinate patient onboarding and refills, ensuring adherence to therapy schedulesHandle medication distribution logistics, including cold-chain management and direct-to-patient shippingMaintain detailed documentation and reporting, meeting REMS, FDA, and manufacturer program requirementsProvide high-touch patient support, addressing non-clinical questions and navigating access barriersEnsure compliance with specialty pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and quality metricsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDCurrent Michigan Pharmacy Technician license in good standingProficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft OfficePreferred Qualifications:PTCB/CPhTExperience in a hospital or retail settingScriptPro experiencePay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
