Project Manager - Commercial Solar

Location: Milford, CT | Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 60% office-based / 40% on job sites across CT | Compensation: $110,000-$130,000 base salary, negotiable based on experience Overview A well-established mid-sized commercial electrical contractor serving commercial, industrial, and municipal clients is growing its commercial solar division and seeking an experienced Project Manager. This role will oversee large-scale commercial and municipal solar projects from contract execution through completion, working across schedule, budget, subcontractors, procurement, utility coordination, inspections, and client communication. What you’ll do Manage multiple commercial and municipal solar projects (rooftop, ground mount, carport, and portfolio-based) across Connecticut Lead project kickoff meetings and establish clear execution plans Develop and maintain project schedules including critical path, long lead items, and utility coordination timelines Manage procurement of major equipment including modules, inverters, switchgear, transformers, and balance of system materials Coordinate with utilities for interconnection, witness testing, and approvals Track project budgets and monitor costs to maintain margin targets Review and manage subcontracts and vendor agreements Submit and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documentation Coordinate with engineering and field teams to ensure design intent is executed correctly Oversee permitting and inspection processes Manage project billing milestones and support O&M transition at project completion Maintain organized project documentation and reporting Identify and mitigate risks early in the project lifecycle Required qualifications 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction, electrical construction, or utility-scale solar Strong understanding of NEC and electrical construction practices Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical schematics Strong budgeting and cost control experience Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Excellent communication and leadership skills Must be comfortable managing multiple job sites Preferred qualifications Experience managing projects exceeding 500 kW Experience with municipal contracts and public bid work OSHA 30 certification Compensation and benefits Competitive base salary between $110,000 and $130,000, negotiable based on experience Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance (through union) Paid Holidays Paid Time Off Company Vehicle and Gas Card 401(k) with Company Match Career Growth and Advancement Opportunities Why this role This is an opportunity to lead large-scale commercial and municipal solar projects for a growing division of an established electrical contractor, with competitive pay and strong benefits including a company vehicle and 401(k) match. #J-18808-Ljbffr
