Position Overview

The Medical Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for managing patient check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, handling incoming communications, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate patient records within the electronic health record system. This role serves as a key connection point between patients, providers, and administrative staff, helping ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and manage check-in/check-out processes
• Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries
• Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments
• Verify insurance coverage and collect copayments
• Register new patients and update demographic information
• Upload and maintain patient records within the EHR system
• Monitor incoming faxes and route documents (referrals, lab results, etc.)
• Communicate effectively with providers, nurses, and outside offices
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Prior medical or office experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, friendly, and patient-focused attitude
• Comfortable working with EHR systems and basic office technology
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Compensation: $15–$18 per hour, based on experience
