FACILITIES MAINT WORKER
Clear Creek County, Colorado
Under the general supervision of the County Facilities Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing a variety of custodial and semi-skilled duties in the maintenance of buildings and grounds.

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:
Clean restrooms daily by cleaning and sanitizing toilets, washing stalls and walls, scrubbing floors, emptying trash, and replenishing soap and paper products. Clean the buildings by dusting, wiping all counter areas, emptying trash, cleaning stairs, corners, and baseboards, and vacuuming carpeted areas. Water plants throughout buildings according to a predetermined schedule. Wash windows and clean blinds according to a predetermined schedule. Mow and trim the lawn areas; weed and pick up trash as necessary. Shovel snow, maintain sidewalks, and assist in keeping premises safe and orderly. Maintain an accurate inventory of custodial supplies and equipment. Perform minor facility maintenance for internal work order requests, including but not limited to changing light bulbs, hanging pictures, escorting vendors, and replacing filters. Clean hard-surface areas in or around the kitchenette. Perform insect and rodent control. Confidentiality expectations: This position maintains and cleans multiple offices containing confidential information, including names and personal identification information. The candidate is expected to avoid reviewing or reading desktop information and maintain confidentiality while cleaning offices. Security expectations: This position has access to multiple secure areas of the County facilities that are not open to the general public. The candidate is prohibited from sharing access or key cards with any person without prior approval from the corresponding supervisor. The candidate is also expected to keep all areas secure and ensure that doors are locked when they leave the area. Must be able to work flexible hours. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED equivalent requires knowledge and ability to handle all routine tasks, problems, and techniques and solve unusual or unique work tasks with limited assistance in the full range of job duties. Such a level is generally acquired through up to four (4) to six (6) years of work experience as a custodian, janitor, or facilities worker. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Must be proficient in using materials, tools, procedures, and safety rules involved in maintaining buildings, grounds, and other facilities. Must be able to perform manual labor for extended periods and in all kinds of weather. Ability to accurately and effectively transmit and receive information necessary to accomplish goals and objectives, including effective written and oral communication, keeping customers, subordinates, peers, and supervisors informed, and listening. Able to maintain courteous and effective working relationships with the public, County departments, co-workers, and other agencies. NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have a valid Colorado Motor Vehicle Driver's License. Must pass a background check: Criminal and Traffic. You must have a working phone, which can be either a landline or a cell phone. Required legal authorization to work - United States citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.SUPERVISORY:
There are no supervisory duties related to this position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands or arms. Additionally, the employee must walk, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch. Must be able to respond to the customers' needs and perform tasks requiring extensive hand and eye coordination. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of equipment. The employee must frequently lift and move objects in a range from 10 up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing voice conversation is essential to safe and effective job performance. The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. While working outdoors in this position, employees are exposed to all types of weather and non-weather conditions, including extremes of temperatures, fumes, odors, dirt, dust, and wind. Ability to operate equipment of varying sizes and move quickly to avoid damage to one's body parts. Occasionally operate a County vehicle in both excellent and poor driving conditions. Duties may require climbing and manual dexterity. POSSIBLE HEALTH RISKS SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITIONThis position has been determined to be an EXTREME exposure risk to 'biohazards' associated with blood-borne pathogens HIV (aids), HAV (Hepatitis A) virus, HBV (hepatitis B) virus, and air-borne transmissions of TB (tuberculosis). Members are advised that exposure to a 'biohazard' may result in severe illness or death. Members are required by Department policy to use protective equipment and clothing. Vaccination may be required to prevent or treat exposures to 'biohazards.' The County provides inoculation of HAV, HBV (Testing for TB), Chickenpox, Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, & Pertussis), Meningococcal, MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella), and Influenza. Some vaccinations are only required once in a lifetime, and you may be required to show documentation of the vaccine. Employees who decline to be vaccinated will need to sign a Declination.

EMERGENCY DEPLOYMENTEmployees may be temporarily reassigned to perform emergency response or disaster recovery duties within their department or in other County departments during a County-declared emergency or disaster, as authorized under the Clear Creek County Employee Disaster Deployment Policy. Such assignments will align with operational needs and the employee's skills and may occur with limited notice. Deployment assignments require employee agreement, and employees will continue to receive their regular compensation in accordance with County policies and applicable labor laws during such assignments.
