Schedule

• 10-hour shifts: 8:30 AM-7:00 PM

• 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM-7:00 PM

• Thursday 12-hour shift: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM

• No call requirement

Facility Details

• Trauma Level I

• Hospital Stroke Certified

• EMR: Cerner

• Large academic hospital with extensive provider and support staff

Requirements

• Board Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

• Active PA License or Compact License accepted

• ACLS Certification Required

• BLS Certification Required

• PALS Certification Required

• Minimum 1 year of experience required

• CRNAs do not need a DEA license in Pennsylvania

Case Mix

• General Surgery

• Orthopedics

• Trauma

• Plastics

• Neurosurgery

• Pediatrics, ages 5 and older

• Endoscopy

• NORA

• Robotic Surgery

• Gynecology

• ENT

• Other general surgical/procedural cases

• No cardiac cases

• No OB

• No regional blocks

Clinical Responsibilities

• Assess, prepare, and manage patients for anesthesia care during the perioperative/procedural period

• Develop and implement anesthetic plans

• Perform histories and physicals

• Obtain informed consent

• Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations

• Perform post-operative assessments

• Provide:

  • General anesthesia

  • Regional anesthesia

  • Epidural anesthesia

  • Spinal anesthesia

  • IV regional anesthesia

  • Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)

• Perform invasive monitoring and placement, including:

  • CVP/CVC

  • Pulmonary artery catheterization

  • Intra-arterial lines

• Airway management

Practice Model & Support

• Other anesthesia providers will be present during coverage

• Practice model is medical direction

• CRNA/Anesthesiologist Ratio: 2:1 or 3:1

• Patient handoffs will occur as appropriate for the care setting

• Large academic hospital with extensive provider and support staff
