QA Technician I

Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of QA Technician at their Villa Rica 1 facility located in Villa Rica, Georgia.

Pay: $18.14 - $27.20 per hour depending on experience

Additional night shift premium of $2.50 per hour. Included in overtime hours and double-time hours.

Schedule: 12 hour - Night Shift 7:00pm - 7:00am on a 3/2 schedule

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Eligible for role with1-5 years of QA Technician or equivalent industry experience preferred.

• Conduct/behavior includes being present, ready to work, and able to work well with others.

• Experience in industrial manufacturing; lab experience preferred

• Proficiencyin computer skills, time management, and data interpretation preferred

• Skilled in using measurement tools in both US and Metric systemsrequired

• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work instructionsrequired

• Strong communicationskills and attention to detailrequired

• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and be taught new skills and concepts

• Ability tomaintaina clean and safe work environment

Internal Candidates:

• Last performance review must have been "Performer" or better.

• No disciplinary actions beyond a verbal within the past 120 days

• Must have been in current position for at least 120 days

PhysicalDemands :

Ability to stand for significant periods of time and to move throughout the plant (this includes steps and ladders)and lift at least 25 lbs.

Work Conditions:

Candidate must be based at a Printpack production locationand bewilling to work overtime as needed.Vacation coverage isrequiredwith at least twoweeks' notice.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Execute quality assurance sampling and testingin accordance withinternal standards and customer specifications.

• Use a variety of lab and testing equipment, including:

• Spectrophotometers for color analysis

• Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) for chemical analysis

• Tensile testers for material strength

• Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) for material identification

• Moconinstruments for measuring Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate (MVTR) and Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR)

• Optical microscopes for detailed surface and cross section examination

• Coefficient of friction

• Conductvisual inspections on all representative samples from materials produced across multiple production lines/processes.

• Exhibitproficiencyin theutilizationof measurement instruments in both US customary and metric systems.

• Articulate anddisseminateresults effectively to various levels of personnel, including Department Operators, Team Leads, Supervisors, and Management.

• Navigate and extract pertinent job and production information, specifications, and testing frequency requirements from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) interfaces.

• Ensureaccurateandtimelydata entry into the ERP system for comprehensive record-keeping and reporting purposes.

• Create hold tags for defective material and ensure proper identification of tagged rolls.

• Uphold and contribute to the department's 5S standards, including housekeeping practices and efficient inventory management of supplies.

• Organize and archive job jackets, laboratory data sheets, andretainsampleson a daily basis.

• Engage in and contribute to Food Safety, Continuous Improvement (CI), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Behavior-Based Safety Observation (BBSO) initiatives.
