Job Description
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Acute Care

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour shifts, rotating between day and night. The schedule includes every Monday and Tuesday on day shift, alternating Wednesday and Friday night shift.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will primarily work in an acute care setting, providing respiratory care services to a diverse adult population, with occasional pediatric and neonatal care in the Emergency Department and Labor & Delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage ventilatory support for patients, including but not limited to ventilator management, high flow nasal cannula, CPAP, and BiPAP.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and analyze results using GEM5000 ABG analyzer.
• Administer nebulizer treatments, metered-dose inhalers (MDIs), and airway clearance procedures.
• Set up nocturnal pulse oximetry for outpatient assessments.
• Assist with intubation as needed and work independently in various patient care areas including inpatient, outpatient, and ED.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years experience in respiratory therapy, with ventilatory skills.
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PCOT certifications.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) acceptable.
• Pediatric experience is helpful but not required.
