This role involves a variety of accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and lease accounting. The ideal candidate will embody our Finance non-negotiables and contribute to a collaborative and positive workplace.Key ResponsibilitiesAccount Reconciliation: Perform general ledger account and bank statement reconciliations accurately and on time.Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries, including month-end closing entries and accruals.Financial Reporting: Create and maintain user-friendly financial reports; assist with monthly report preparation.Fixed Asset Management: Maintain the fixed asset system and ensure compliance with lease accounting requirements.Aged Receivables: Keep current aged receivables, understanding their impact on cash flow and planning.Variance Analysis: Analyze financial information and monitor budgeted vs. actual activity; recommend actions for variances.Compliance: Review account reconciliations and other documents for adherence to company policies and GAAP.Audit Support: Prepare documentation for external auditors and assist during audit processes.Process Improvement: Embrace continuous improvement, demonstrating curiosity and critical thinking to challenge the status quo.Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the finance department.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant, preferably in a resort or club environment.Technical Skills: Proficient in MS 365, with an interest in Power BI. Familiarity with financial closing processes, general ledger management, and subsidiary ledgers.Interpersonal Skills: Engaging personality with strong communication skills, comfortable interacting with members, employees, and guests.Work Environment: Must be physically present at the work site 5 days a week during normal business hours.
