Equity Research Specialist

Location & Hybrid Work Based in Chicago or Boston, this hybrid role requires you to work in the office at least three days per week. Responsibilities Proactively lead interviews with portfolio management teams and business leaders. Gather and analyze information to identify and communicate asset managers that are most likely to generate value for clients. Provide insights and advice to clients and consultants on a wide variety of equity investment strategies, including how the products can enhance a client’s existing plan. Present Mercer's views on building effective exposures to equity structures, including how specific managers can enhance a client’s return/risk profile and how best to achieve this result through the selection of individual equity strategies. Extend Mercer's thought leadership by presenting views at internal and external conferences. Where applicable, provide mentoring and support to the broader equity research team. Contribute to post‑meeting discussions covering key issues and recommended manager ratings. Provide adhoc support to consultants in preparing for internal and external research meetings. Assist in preparing for direct client discussions on managers/strategies. Qualifications BA/BS degree in finance, economics, or other business‑related field with strong quantitative and analytical skills. 5–10 years of fund research/manager due diligence experience. Intellectual curiosity, tenacity, and willingness to take on new opportunities. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to multi‑task, manage multiple priorities, and work in a rapidly changing environment. Strong writing and communication skills. Working knowledge of MS Office. Preferred MBA and/or CFA. General knowledge of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) investing. Benefits & Compensation Base salary range: $104,400 to $208,800, with potential performance‑based incentives.
