Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on SAP-driven planning and scheduling, leadership of maintenance and electrician teams, and hands-on mechanical and electrical support. This role ensures that preventive and corrective maintenance activities are planned, executed, and documented efficiently to maintain safe, reliable, and continuous plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule weekly and monthly maintenance work orders using SAP to ensure timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Create requisitions in SAP for parts, materials, and services required to support maintenance activities.
• Assign and manage purchase orders in SAP, ensuring accurate tracking of maintenance-related procurement.
• Lead maintenance and electrician teams, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety standards.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life.
• Supervise day-to-day maintenance operations, including troubleshooting, repair, and inspection activities.
• Utilize mechanical and electrical knowledge to support diagnosis and resolution of equipment issues, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and 3-phase electrical systems.
• Monitor work progress, adjust schedules as needed, and ensure completion of maintenance tasks within established timelines.
• Promote and enforce safety procedures and best practices in all maintenance work, maintaining a safe work environment.
• Use computer software, including SAP and Microsoft Word and Excel, to document maintenance activities, prepare reports, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with production and other departments to prioritize work orders and align maintenance activities with operational needs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance management, planning, and scheduling processes.
• Ensure proper supervision of maintenance technicians, including assigning tasks, reviewing work quality, and providing performance feedback.

Essential Skills

• Strong SAP knowledge, including scheduling weekly and monthly work orders, creating requisitions, and assigning purchase orders.
• 35 years of experience leading maintenance and electrician teams in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within a chemical plant.
• Mechanical and electrical knowledge applicable to industrial equipment.
• Ability to supervise maintenance operations and provide direction to technicians.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repair of industrial machinery.
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in a maintenance environment.

• Experience working in a chemical plant environment.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, including 3-phase systems.

Work Environment

The role is based in a chemical plant environment that involves significant time spent outdoors and extensive walking throughout the facility. You will work in conditions that may include exposure to outside elements and require prolonged standing and walking, as well as occasional work at elevated areas. The setting is industrial and fast-paced, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and continuous operations, and you will regularly use SAP and standard office software to manage and document maintenance activities.

This is a Contract position based out of East Saint Louis, IL.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
