Position Summary:

Create a safe, culturally appropriate and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies, practices and procedures at THE MUK skate park.


Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Supervise the participants and all activities happening at THE MUK
• Teach group classes or lessons to those enrolled in program
• Maintain effective relationships with participants, members, and staff
• Design and implement culturally responsive lessons or activities for participants
• Maintain required program records
• Maintain program site and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum age 18
• Skate or Scooter experience and ability to navigate and land tricks at the park
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
• Ability to coach and lead staff
• Basic computer skills/knowledge required
• Fluency in second language desired

Physical Demands:

Ability to lead and participate in a range of activities in outdoor settings. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise program activities. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
