Senior Accountant

Summary Job Description The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the full accounting cycle of the company. This role ensures financial integrity, detailed operational accounting, accurate revenue recognition, cost control, and strong oversight of internal controls across the entity. This position reports to the Controller, and it partners closely with each department and executive leadership to ensure that growth is supported by disciplined financial management and strong unit economics. Key Responsibilities Financial Oversight & Reporting
- Drive month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
- Prepare ad hoc management reports as required.
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations.
- Track operational KPIs.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Support profitability analysis by customer, channel, or warehouse location.
- Full lifecycle knowledge in Fixed Asset Management
- Assist with external audits and tax filings.
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trails.
- Ensure compliance with company controls and accounting procedures.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with state and local taxes for relevant jurisdictions.
- Strengthen internal accounting controls and audit readiness.
- Oversee reconciliations between internal systems and QuickBooks Online.
- Improve financial processes and reporting automation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong ownership of financial accuracy and reporting integrity.
- Ability to learn quickly and add efficiency to financial-close process.
- Deep understanding of revenue models and cost drivers.
- Strategic mindset with ability to translate operational activity into financial insight.
- High accountability for compliance, margin protection, and process optimization.
- Collaborative leadership style with cross-functional influence.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience , including senior-level responsibilities.
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, freight forwarding, or distribution preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, margin analysis, pivot tables, advanced formulas).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Advanced English proficiency.
Physical Requirements: - Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
