As a Relationship Manager III (F) within PNC's Corporate Banking organization, you will be a key member of the expanding Pharma & Life Sciences vertical industry team. This team provides industry coverage of Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology, Medical Device, Medtech, Pharma Services, Technologies, and Pharma Supply Chain clients and prospects across the United States. Relationship Managers within PNC’s Specialty Industry teams focus on a specific industry and leverage their industry knowledge to create value for PNC and the client. Specialty Industry RMs work with local in‑market RMs to deliver industry expertise into relationships, develop a brand and presence for PNC in the industry through newsletters, thought leadership pieces, webinars, conference presence, and hosted events, and provide insight to drive client selection, portfolio management, risk assessment, transaction structuring, and underwriting policies. Location This position can be located in New York, NY; Pittsburgh, PA; Philadelphia, PA; East Brunswick, NJ; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; Charlotte, NC; San Francisco, CA; San Diego, CA; Orange County, CA; or other major PNC markets that may be considered. Responsibilities Set relationship strategies and direct relationship‑management activities with new and/or existing clients in a book of business to grow sales, revenue, and market share. Work independently, mentor team members, and create strategies to acquire, expand, and retain client relationships to generate revenue and deepen share of wallet. Handle origination, financial analysis, negotiation, and documentation of credit and non‑credit products and services. Manage risk/return and drive quality for new and existing clients. Actively identify and mitigate regulatory, reputational, operational, and credit risks. Focus on client opportunities, providing ideas and insights based on an understanding of the client’s needs and financial well‑being. Drive client engagement and loyalty. Generate best practices within Relationship Management and provide mentorship. Build and maintain an effective network of senior internal and external relationships to actively acquire new clients, expand existing ones, and enhance client experience. Present the full range of PNC’s products and services to clients. Leverage reporting and sales tools to identify and convert sales opportunities. Demonstrate ability to analyze, evaluate, and mitigate credit risk for complex requests using advanced credit fundamentals and internal policies. Qualifications Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role. The position typically requires a university or college degree, with a Master’s, PhD, or relevant certifications desirable. Industry experience of 8+ years is typical. Competencies include business acumen, client relationship management, credit analysis and verification, decision making, effective communication, industry knowledge, managing multiple priorities, and portfolio management. This role is incentive eligible with compensation based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
