RN Progressive Care

Job Summary The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act with emphasis on the cardiovascular service line. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience. Position: RN – Progressive Care (Full‑time Night shift: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, rotating weekends). New hires may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus of up to $15,000. Responsibilities Use therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintain a safe and therapeutic Progressive Care environment. Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual Progressive Care patients. Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process. Provide emotional support to patients and significant others to make informed health‑care choices. Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver. Participate in cardiovascular department‑specific initiatives and process improvement. Promote a supportive Progressive Care environment. Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs. Maintain high quality care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as assigned. Support the mission, vision and values of the organization. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing school. Associate’s degree acceptable to start; must obtain BSN within 24 months of hire. Current RN license in TX or compact license. Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Current ACLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Acute‑care experience within the last 5 years, preferably a minimum of 1 year prior experience. Experience with cardiovascular/telemetry patients preferred.
