Serving as a Training Technician GS-1702-9 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Technical Training Operations (TTO) Directorate under the Office of the Associate Director for Training Operations (TOPS) and located in Glynco, Georgia.

The primary purpose of this position is designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating advanced and basic programs, agency basic and integrated programs, and export programs, courses, materials, aids, devices, etc. in support of the program and administrative operations of FLETC.

Typical duties include:

• Providing basic technical guidance and assistance to FLETC headquarters and field office officials and employees on conventional training and instructional issues and activities.
• Establishing liaisons and corresponding with other divisions, participating organizations and on-site representatives as appropriate on various matters related to advanced training programs.
• Assisting instructors with the development, coordination, issuance, and administration of project agreements, task orders, statements of work with commercial organizations, educational institutions, etc.
• Designing, developing, revising, and adapting short and self-contained courses, modules, materials, aids, and devices utilizing current technologies to facilitate the training needs of FLETC.

Specialized Experience:

You qualify at the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following:

• One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in Federal service, performing the following duties: 1) Applying adult education practices and methods to provide guidance on training and instructional issues; 2) Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of training and instructional programs/activities; and 3) Analyzing training data to identify issues and develop resolutions; OR
• A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR
• A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience as described above that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.

NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first year may be used to qualify for the GS-09 level.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.

Re-employed annuitants' annual salaries will be reduced by the amount of their retirement annuity and by further cost of living increases.
