Role Description The Director of People & Culture is a full-time, on-site role based in Durango, CO, responsible for leading all aspects of human resources and organizational culture. This role oversees talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning to ensure the company is staffed with engaged, high-performing team members. Daily responsibilities include managing employee relations, performance management processes, compensation and benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws and company policies. The Director designs and implements training and development programs, supports leadership in coaching and feedback, and fosters an inclusive, safety-conscious workplace aligned with company values. This position also develops culture-building initiatives, communication strategies, and recognition programs that strengthen employee engagement and retention across all departments. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in HR leadership, including employee relations, performance management, and policy development. Skills in talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning to support operational and growth needs. Ability to design and implement training, leadership development, and culture-building initiatives. Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices. Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels of the organization. Capability to analyze HR data, use HRIS tools, and make data-informed decisions that improve people processes. Proven experience fostering inclusive, equitable, and safety-focused work environments. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; advanced certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR) is preferred. Prior experience in manufacturing, distribution, or similar operational settings is beneficial.
