Overview

Mechanical and Plumbing Systems is seeking a highly skilled Commercial HVAC Technicians with a minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with commercial HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, pumps, VFD's, VRF and cooling towers, and be capable of working independently in complex commercial and industrial environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To succeed in this role, a Commercial HVAC Service Technician must demonstrate advanced technical expertise, strong problem-solving ability, and a consistent commitment to customer satisfaction.

Service, Troubleshooting & System Optimization

• Diagnose, repair, and resolve issues across a wide range of commercial HVAC systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and optimize equipment for energy efficiency, performance, and reliability
• Identify potential system improvements and proactively recommend solutions

Customer Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships
• Address service concerns professionally and provide clear, knowledgeable recommendations
• Deliver high-quality communication and dependable support at every interaction

Communication & Documentation

• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure efficient scheduling and job completion
• Accurately complete service reports, work orders, and required documentation in a timely manner
• Maintain detailed records of diagnostics, repairs, and system performance

Vehicle & Equipment Readiness

• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service vehicle
• Ensure personal tools and company-provided equipment remain in proper working condition

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all OSHA regulations, company policies, and customer site safety requirements
• Maintain a strong commitment to safe work practices at all times

Emergency Response

• Participate in the on-call rotation to provide after-hours emergency service as required

Additional Expectations

• Some overnight travel may be required depending on jobsite location
• Partial tool set provided by the company
• All required PPE supplied
• Company-issued credit card for approved job-related expenses

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of commercial HVAC experience required
• Extensive experience with commercial HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, pumps, and cooling towers
• EPA Universal Certification (required)
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel as needed for service assignments
• Valid driver’s license required
• And other job duties as needed or assigned
