Mechanical Engineer (White Plains)

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative engineering team developing advanced robotic, electromechanical, and automated equipment for specialized laboratory and healthcare applications. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for robotic and automated equipment.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Perform engineering analyses, tolerance stack-ups, and design calculations to validate mechanical performance.
• Build prototypes, conduct testing, and troubleshoot mechanical designs to improve functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Support product verification and validation activities, including test planning, execution, and documentation.
• Partner with manufacturing teams to transition designs into production and resolve manufacturing-related challenges.
• Participate in design reviews and implement product improvements based on testing results, technical feedback, and performance requirements.
• Ensure designs meet applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, specifications, and engineering change orders.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles throughout the product development process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software; SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation.
• Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials selection, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerance analysis.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, fast-paced engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical devices, robotics, laboratory equipment, industrial automation, or electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Experience working within regulated product development environments and quality management systems.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA design controls, or similar regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting products through the transition from engineering development to manufacturing and commercialization.
