Travel Special Education Teacher (Louisiana)

A premier school district partner in Louisiana is seeking a dedicated Travel Special Education Teacher to join their team for the full upcoming school year (September – June). This full-time position (35 hours/week) is ideal for an adaptable educator eager to make a strong impact while working with supportive district resources.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead a specialized classroom environment serving elementary students (ages 6–10) with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

  • Implement structured behavioral interventions and individual support strategies for students exhibiting challenging behaviors.

  • Develop, write, and execute Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to academic and functional goals.

  • Collaborate closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Paraprofessionals, and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to maintain a safe, structured classroom environment.

  • Assess student progress, adapt curriculum, and maintain clear documentation in accordance with state compliance guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Louisiana Special Education (SPED) Teaching Certification.

  • Proven experience with behavior management techniques and autism support programs.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field.

  • Strong communication and crisis-de-escalation abilities.
