A rewarding contract opportunity awaits you as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students in an elementary school setting near Kenner, LA. This full-time role spans the academic year from August 3, 2026, through May 26, 2027, working 35 hours per week in an onsite capacity. You will play a vital part in fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment where all learners can thrive.

What we’re seeking:

• Active Louisiana Educator Certificate required
• Preference for candidates with Special Education (SPED) Educator Certification, though applicants holding an Elementary 1-5 Certificate will also be considered
• Strong classroom management skills and experience adapting instruction for diverse needs
• Capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Comfort working in a variety of special education settings with flexibility to adjust as needed

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to K-5 students in alignment with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Modify the general education curriculum for students with a range of needs and support inclusion in the least restrictive environment
• Assess students’ progress regularly, documenting achievements and updating instructional goals
• Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement, self-advocacy, and growth
• Effectively communicate with staff, families, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic student support
