Locums Cardiovascular Surgery Physician

We are seeking a Locums Cardiovascular Surgery Physician to provide call coverage in Ogden, Utah. This opportunity requires a physician experienced in both cardiovascular and thoracic surgery and comfortable practicing in a Level II Trauma Center.

Position Highlights

Schedule: 24-hour call coverage

Trauma Designation: Level II Trauma Center

EMR: Meditech

Patient Volume: Approximately 10–12 patients per week

Consults: Approximately 3–5 consults per week

Surgical Volume: Approximately 1–3 surgeries per week

Typically 1 cardiac case

Typically 2–3 thoracic cases

Annual Cardiac Volume: Approximately 80 heart cases per year

Hospital-provided vein harvest team

Responsibilities

Provide 24-hour call coverage for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients

Evaluate and manage cardiovascular and thoracic surgical patients

Perform cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures as needed

Respond to consultations and provide surgical recommendations

Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care

Collaborate with hospital staff and the surgical care team

Maintain timely and accurate documentation in Meditech

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery

Active Utah medical license required

Active Utah DEA required

Experience performing both cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures

Comfortable providing independent call coverage in a Level II Trauma Center
