Where do YOU fit in?

We are looking for a Lead Mechanic with shop foreman experience to assemble, maintain and repair a wide variety of machinery and vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems. An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions. The position will serve as the lead mechanic which will require coordination and performing all repairs. You will be accountable for task completion in a timely and safe manor under the direction of the Sr. Director.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

• Performs and diagnoses repairs along with occasional overhauls on large diesel engines, transmissions, working components, electrical and fuel systems for various powered and rolling equipment such as cars, light trucks, vacuum trucks, and generators.
• Performs tune ups, brake jobs and other preventative maintenance on cars, trucks, trailers, skid-steers, and other rolling powered equipment; replaces common parts and performs adjustments.
• Work on and assist with repairs on industrial vacuum trucks (combo units & air movers), small PTO based industrial air movers, mowers, tractors, and other small engine units (pumps & generators).
• Ability to weld on small items such as trailers, hinges, etc.
• Minor fabrication ability desired but not required
• Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
• Perform weekly inspections and general repairs on trucks as issues arise.
• Able to work on both gas and diesel engines (ie; Maxforce, Cummins, Volvo)
• Comfortable using computers, scan tools, tablets, and other devices as needed.
• Familiar with Canbus and able to diagnose/repair
• Familiar with hydraulic systems and MAC valves operation to troubleshoot and repair
• On-site repairs/ER callouts when they arise with use of service truck
• Able to read/interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics
• Organized and able to multitask while staying focused.
• Complete and keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs on company trucks and equipment in a timely manner.
• Familiar with simple vacuum truck operation processes along with PTO engagement
• Shop inventory management
• Maintain vendor relationships

 

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Four years as a journey-level mechanic in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting required.
• Shop foreman experience preferred but not required
• ASE certification (T2 – T8) desired however not required, ability to perform weekly/monthly/yearly truck/trailer inspections.

 

License & Certifications:

• CDL Class A or Class B (Required)
• Must possess a valid (Class B) driver’s license (with air brakes and tanker endorsement) and no transmission restriction
• Valid DOT medical card
• Ability to stay current with the following: ABS brake systems, fuel management systems, A/C (EPA-609) certified, automotive electrical training, and ASE certification if applicable.
• Ability to complete safety training as required.

 

Salary: $42.00 - $47.00 per hour
