If so, then the Tax Support Division's Technology Section is the place for you! The Technology Management Section is looking for an enthusiastic leader to oversee the Projects and Application Support Group. The Tax Administrator (TA) I, is responsible for planning, organizing, directing the activities of the group. The TAI oversees staff who manage and support IT projects for the Tax Branch, administer shared folder permissions, develop and maintain SharePoint solutions, and perform complex and analytical support functions for content management services (i.e. InfoImage). The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and strategic thinker who can guide technical staff, ensure efficient operations, and drive continuous improvement. The TA I must be able to coach and mentor technical staff and promote an environment of teamwork, open communication, creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, and leadership. The TA I models the vision and values of the Division, Branch and Department. This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee. Position located at 1416 9th Street, 7th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814. Located in downtown Sacramento, near light rail and public transportation. Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month. Examination/Assessment If selected for hire, you must obtain list eligibility by taking and passing the examination. If you already have list eligibility for this classification, you do not need to retake the examination unless your list eligibility has expired. The TAX ADMINISTRATOR I, is a Departmental Promotional exam for EDD employees only. The next administration of the TAX ADMINISTRATOR I, exam is tentatively scheduled for 09/2027.
