About the Position

Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Indiana RN license or compact license required Certifications: BLS through AHA required Must-Have: Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience. Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in a large hospital (450+ beds). Description: This position requires floating to various medical units based on need. Patient ratios will be 1:5-6. The candidate will manage a diverse population of patients with a variety of diagnoses, including chronic illnesses. Common issues include COPD, diabetes, congestive heart failure, and end-stage renal disease. Candidates will also manage gastrointestinal issues like pancreatitis and inflammatory bowel diseases. Infections such as pneumonia, cellulitis, sepsis, and UTI will be part of the patient care. Management of neurological issues including stroke and traumatic brain injuries is expected. Mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety will also be encountered. Patients may require procedures like colonoscopies, biopsies, and minor surgeries. General job duties include assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and IV therapy management is essential. Equipment utilized includes electronic record systems, medical storage systems, and telemetry monitoring. Candidate should have experience with IV pumps, wound management, and patient-centric equipment. Candidates are required to complete orientation and training specific to the nursing role. This position involves working three weekends every four weeks. Proper attire includes Caribbean Blue scrubs.
